End of the year

I can't believe it is that time of the year again. It feels like we just started school last week. I guess that is what happens when you enjoy what and where you teach.  The past week and half has been tying up those end of the year strings. We completed our Rate and Ratio unit and completed a percent, ratio and decimal skittle activity curtesy of Teaching with a Mountain View. My main goal was to get to students involved. They, I mean we, were all restless after Spring Break.

As I pack up a few things in my classroom for cleaning, I can't help but think of the possibilities for next year. I am thinking more color and more student centered, interactive bulletin boards. I found out I am not only teaching 6th grade math, but a math essentials as well. On top of a different class, we decided to go with a new math curriculum, Big Ideas. Does any one work with it? If so what are your likes and dislikes?
